Who: Anyone who wants to see Linux or run it on their computer.

Installations take 30 minutes to over two hours, please arrive within the first few hours.

We will also help with installing Free Software applications such as Firefox, OpenOffice.org, the GIMP, Blender and Inkscape on other operating systems.

The candidate would report directly or perhaps indirectly, to Mike Ballon; the position does have a good possibility of becoming full time.

Ease the migration to Linux, save time and money, while keeping a no
maintenance version of Microsoft Windows desktop to pick up the slack on any software that does not have a Linux equivalent. Employees don't have a visible difference on their desktops. Companies get to save money and IT effort.

Using GNU/Linux to deploy Microsoft Windows in a multi-campus K12
environment reduces annual desktop and server licensing costs. In this
session, you'll learn how to realize many of the benefits of Free
Software without throwing out all your essential, windows only,
educational and administrative software. You can realize additional
savings by moving to Free Software applications.

Students, teachers and staff get to keep using the essential software
software they require to get their work done, but with better stability and flexibility. Using GNU/Linux as the deployment infrastructure also improves security and reduces firefighting for IT.

The presentation also includes tips on how to get users to accept and
even request Free software, as well as tips on when not try do a transition to Free and Open Source Software.

Presentation 1

Discussion regarding how Infusionsoft implements open source solutions within a corporate environment, This discussion will include how Linux, and other open source tools are used within a corporate environment to efficiently and effectively replicate costly solutions. These topics will include: Setting up an automation system across the back-end with bash; how to configure a fully redundant set of Tomcat web nodes, and MySQL database nodes, with easily activated fail-over capabilities; remote management, and installation; feasible backup solutions; and routing capabilities with Iptables.

Presentation 2

Overview of new features in KDE SC 4.4, the upcoming release of the KDE Software Compilation. Ryan Rix will go over some of the new capabilities of the desktop and will be on hand with live USB images for installation.

Requirements:
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree.

Must have knowledge of SQL.

Must have at least 5 years of Java experience.

Must have at least 1 ORM technology experience.

Must have experience with more than one MVC framework.

Environment:

Casual Atmosphere, Flex Schedules available! Full time (between 40-50 hours per week depending on the project you are working on)

Benefits: A full benefits package after 90 day contract is up and you are hired as a permanent employee.

Pay Range:
Contract basis for 90 days then Salary is between $70-90k plus up to a $10k bonus potential per year
